Lumineers are digitally designed with the use of computer technology to be extremely thin – so that they can be applied seamlessly over your existing teeth. The procedure is generally much less invasive than the process of fitting a porcelain veneer, as there is no need for drilling or tooth reduction and no temporaries to fit. Both traditional veneers and lumineers are made of porcelain, which is an extremely strong and long-lasting material. The end product is a gorgeous bright smile with much less hassle.
What to expect
We will take an impression of your upper and lower teeth, which are then taken to our on-site laboratory. Then on your next visit, your teeth are minimally etched to prepare the surface for bonding of the placement of the lumineers. We then make sure it fits firmly and assess your smile and bite to ensure no chipping occurs once bonded into place. And now you can enjoy your new smile!
Lumineers don’t stain due to the material they are made of as they are easy to polish. It’s still a good idea to brush after consuming foods or drinks that stain the teeth, especially coffee, soda, tea, and red wine. Lumineers should be brushed with a non-abrasive toothpaste, flossed, and rinsed with mouthwash just like natural teeth.
Lumineers are a great idea for anyone who wishes to improve their smile. If you think this is the procedure for you, get in touch.
